What Auto-Pen does
Research and Write in one click, the guaranteed passes every post gets after them (Enhance), and the checks that keep a post accurate and on-voice.
Auto-Pen is the one-click writer. Press it on a post and its steps run in order, with the post locked until they finish. You can leave the page; it keeps going.
The steps you see
Research: the platform reads the web on your headline. It plans searches, reads the pages behind the sources it finds (not just their summaries), weighs your positioning, picks an angle, drafts an outline into the post, and fact-checks that outline against those pages. A claim the pages can't settle gets a live web search of its own, and what that search finds joins the sources. If you turned on the Direction check-in, it pauses here and emails you a few angles to choose from.
Write: a writing kernel turns the outline into a full draft in your organization's voice. This is the long step: a full-length piece takes 15 to 20 minutes, because the kernel drafts, checks its own rules, and revises until a panel of reviewers agrees it reads as human-written. (More on kernels in KB-701.)
Enhance: the guaranteed passes below run over the finished draft. There's nothing to build or wire; each pass is a switch on the collection.
The passes every post gets
After Write, a set of passes runs. Each is a switch on the collection's Auto-Pen card (KB-303), and each can be re-run on a single finished post from its Enhance panel, under Guaranteed passes:
- Brand mention: your company is named as often as the collection's setting allows, and competitors you've marked never mention are scrubbed.
- Visuals: diagrams for the sections that earn one, and any comparison table a template asked for.
- Internal links: links to your own pages, from the collection's sitemap.
- External sources: citations for the claims the article makes.
- Metadata: JSON-LD, meta tags, and an llms.txt entry, written last so they describe the finished article.
They run in that order, after the writing, because the brand mention can rewrite prose and a visual or a link placed before it would describe an article that no longer exists.
The checks in between
You won't see these as steps, but they're why the result holds up:
- Claims check, inside the kernel: the kernel writes from the claims Research gathered and records which claims each sentence states and which citations shipped. If a table, image, code block or quote from the input doesn't come back, the post is held rather than published. On a company's own blog, a post where most figures have no source is also held instead of having them all softened; phantom sites publish and record the gap (KB-306).
- Coherence: does the piece contradict itself? A templated post gets one rewrite of its framing prose if not; a free-form post is flagged.
- Citations: every statistic that came from a source is linked to it, even if the collection has no sources pass or stage.
- Sources checked: the writer never checks anything itself, so any sentence in which it claims to have ("checked against the venue's official listing") is removed. If your template asks for a list of sources, the platform renders that section from the pages Research actually read, each linked and dated.
- Mention policy: the brand mention pass above, applied on every prose run.
Where it's configured
Auto-Pen is set up per collection, so every post in a collection is written the same way. Open a collection's Control Room → Setup → Auto-Pen to turn steps and passes on and off and set how your company is mentioned. Each setting is explained in KB-303.
